The lowdown: The fash pack were greeted by giant tent-like sheets in bold primary colours at the Céline show - the result of a collaboration between designer Phoebe Philo and Danish artist FOS, giving the audience the illusion of a camping trip - a very upscale one that would make even glamping look grubby. The clothes, too, had a back-to-basics feel to them (this is an intrinsic part of the house's DNA, after all), although with a more feminine feel than in seasons past, from the silky black and white lingerie-inspired slips that opened the show (also seen at Balenciaga) to the curvy coats with balloon sleeves that followed. Like the coats, dresses came with wasp-waists and voluminous sleeves, although necklines were opened up or buttoned down for more of that restrained sexiness. Where looks strayed from their monochrome palette, a check motif in khaki or separates in military green appeared to chic effect.
