Saint Laurent SS16
The lowdown: Glam-grunge continues to be the Saint Laurent girl's signature style as designer Hedi Slimane presented a line-up of slip dresses, army jackets and chunky boots on his SS16 runway. The return of Agyness Deyn on the catwalk was also a blast from the past and fitting with the designer's Nineties throwback aesthetic. Slimane's mix of masculine and feminine was expertly pulled off on looks that included lingerie-style slips (also seen at Balenciaga and Céline, making them officially a trend) topped with oversized black tuxedo jackets, and sparkly minis under camouflage parkas. Leopard, a house mainstay, appeared on slouchy bomber jackets and teddy bear coats, which were worn with cut-out leather trousers or boyfriend jeans. Each look was teamed with princess tiaras and wellies, some floral embellished, others plain, and a final parade of strappy floral or sequined gowns were reminiscent of Courtney Love in all her Nineties glory.
Who we saw: Julia Restoin Roitfeld
