The lowdown: Tibi is the go-to label for easy, feminine dressing but for SS16 things were amped up a notch. Yes, the fluid culottes and off-the-shoulder tops were there, as were the slouchy suiting and paper bag-waisted skirts – all in a soft palette of white, putty and peach, they were exactly what you want to wear in summer - but the real showstoppers were the sequined gowns. Designer Amy Smilovic kept silhouettes slouchy for a contemporary look and sliced skirts through with contrast colour pleats with peek-a-boo effect. In shades of burgundy, black and teal (colours not normally associated with Spring/Summer), they felt glamorous but effortless. Shorts, too, grabbed their moment in the spotlight, appearing in iridescent shades of turquoise and forest green.
