Recipe: Fig And Orange Brandy Snap

Designed exclusively for Style Insider by Harrods’ Beverage Manager, Alberto Petrivelli, the Fig and Orange Brandy Snap is a warming yet invigorating cocktail with notes of fig, grape and fresh orange, making it an inviting welcome drink as your guests come in from the cold. And, while it is best served fresh from the cocktail shaker – a perfect opportunity to show off your bartending skills – it can also be made before guests arrive, giving you just enough time to slip into your suit, party dress or Christmas jumper.

Ingredients for one cocktail:
50ml cognac
25g sugar
2 figs
Small handful of grapes
¼ orange
Cinnamon stick (to serve)

Scrape the flesh from the figs and add to a glass with the grapes and sugar. Mix together until you achieve a juicy pulp. Add the cognac and the juice of ¼ of an orange. Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice and then strain into your glass of choice. Garnish with the cinnamon stick and orange peel and serve.
