Cannes Film Festival 2014: Star Style

This year, the 67th Cannes Film Festival meant one thing: all-out glamour. Day and night, our favourite celebrities attended sun-drenched photocalls and took to the red carpet showcasing the most covetable ensembles. Here, we round-up the top looks; scroll through the gallery above for a glimpse at true star style.

Nicole Kidman, star of the festival’s opening title, Grace of Monaco, attended the film’s photocall sporting a white crepe dress with a tie detail at the middle and slits on the sleeves. For evening, the actress upped the glamour with a heavily-embellished blue Armani Privé gown and a sleek side ponytail.

Gossip Girl star, Blake Lively, looked breathtaking in an oxblood Gucci Premiere gown with matching earrings, while Zoe Saldana channelled pure freshness in an elegant Victoria Beckham AW14 dress that featured a front ruffle and gold chain waist piece.

Meanwhile, Audrey Tautou impressed in a pleated monochrome Prada dress and sleek navy pumps.

Wearing a Louis Vuitton gown, Julianne Moore took to the red carpet for the premiere of Mr Turner, and proved that leather really can work for summer; the design featured a burgundy leather top and a spiral skirt created in black embroidered satin. The star teamed her dress with a sleek do and sensual, smoky eyes.

Cate Blanchett attended the Trophée Chopard event donning a heavenly embellished Valentino number. Sporting a coiffured up-do and a pair of delightfully bejewelled shrimp earrings, the actress looked every inch the Hollywood star.

Blake Lively returned to the red carpet on the arm of husband Ryan Reynolds for the premiere of his film, Captives, wearing a Gucci Premiere gown that recalled ‘50s-style glamour. Every bit the screen siren, the actress accessorised the monochrome gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels to match her pink diamond engagement ring.

Bringing a bold dose of colour to proceedings, Jessica Chastain maximised the electric blue tone of her one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown with bursts of poppy red at her lips and nails for the premiere of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

Freida Pinto floated down the Saint Laurent red carpet in a creamy-coloured Michael Kors gown embellished with shimmering sequins and fluttering feathers. Glossy locks and a raspberry lip punctuated the look to perfection.

Marion Cotillard rocked a super-embellished Maison Martin Margiela Couture mini dress for the Two Days, One Night photocall; the star teamed her high-neck beaded number with peep-toe boots and a sleek up-do.

Looking heavenly in a shimmering Chanel Couture gown, Julianne Moore sashayed down the red carpet for the premiere of The Maps To The Stars as her feather-covered design billowed in the wind.

Always one to channel effortless elegance, Amber Heard’s Vionnet ensemble was dream-like; attending the De Grisogono Party, the actress paired a draped cream top with a gold, iridescent maxi skirt and added a wavy side-swept hair style for extra style kudos.

Daring to be bold, redhead Jessica Chastain sported a one-shouldered lavender Elie Saab Couture gown at the premiere for Foxcatcher. A colour combination made in style heaven, the actress showcased tumbling waves and chandelier earrings for added glamour.

Alessandra Ambrosio sashayed down the red carpet for the amfAR Gala in a while silk chiffon Roberto Cavalli gown that featured an elegant pleated skirt and intricate silver embellishment. We especially loved the daring criss-cross detailing at the back.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked simply showstopping in a bright, golden yellow, asymmetric Emilio Pucci dress. Backless and held together by metal chain, the model sported effortless wavy hair and a neutral pink lip.
