Celebs Celebrate Italian Glamour
When it comes to fashion, the Italians are in a class of their own. From the flamboyant prints and textures of Emilio Pucci and Roberto Cavalli to the timeless elegance of MaxMara and Escada, the Italian offering promises unrivalled luxury and self-assured style. Celebrating the biggest trends and designers from past and present, the V&A’s latest retrospective, The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945 – 2014, opened in true Italian style with a sophisticated guestlist of models, designers and editors in attendance.
Showcasing SS14’s Tribal trend to perfection in Emilio Pucci, Poppy Delevingne’s monochrome print maxi dress featured intricate hot pink embroidery and 360° appeal in the form of a scooping backless finish. Paired with tousled tresses and a metallic clutch, Poppy arrived on the arm of Emilio Pucci’s artistic director, Peter Dundas.
Ramping up the red carpet glamour, Naomi Campbell turned to Roberto Cavalli’s AW14 collection, choosing a heavily-embellished dress with a feathered fringe hem and plush fur stole. Proving more is more with intricate beading and layered textures, the supermodel’s high-octane look is a masterclass in unabated after-dark allure.
