Harrods Live - The Lowdown
This weekend’s third annual Vogue Festival, staged on London’s Southbank, had serious A-list pull, with the likes of Alexa Chung, Naomi Campbell, Valentino and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among the celebrity panellists. One of the star attractions was our very own Harrods Live catwalk, hosting a series of runway shows dedicated to celebrating the next generation of street style stars. Drawing thousands of super-stylish guests eager to show off their individual looks, we hosted the leggy and gorgeous Karlie Kloss (who walked the runway twice!) and über-fashionista Miroslava Duma, while legions of fashion fans popped by on both days to snap their runway-worthy looks: “It was so much fun. I want to do it every day!” a designer-clad student told us as she came off the runway.
Backstage, Bobbi Brown’s team of make-up artists were on hand to create statement lips and smoky eyes for our aspiring fashionistas, while the girls (and boys) lined up to show off their looks, from classic designers to cutting-edge trends. In between shows, guests were enamoured with Chanel’s pop-up make-up booth offering a Vogue cover shot, the cupcake-crammed Harrods Café counter and one-to-one make-up bag consultations with beauty industry insiders.
Buzzing with the hashtag #HarrodsLive, Twitter was on fire and all-out Instagram mayhem ensued as Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Edie Campbell and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley took to the catwalk, while DJ Chelsea Leyland and Editor Mira Duma were also spotted on the runway.
As the last catwalk show drew to a close, we reminisced on the weekend and Saturday’s incredible Valentino interview before it was time for the last talk of Vogue Festival 2014, 'Fashion Legends', with the inimitable Naomi Campbell.
