Created in collaboration with award-winning garden designer Sheena Seeks, ‘The Fragrance Garden’ showcasing at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015 is a celebration of perfume through the medium of flowers. The concept garden takes inspiration from the 19th Century artisan tradition of  ‘enfleurage’, a technique whereby the scent of flowers is captured in wax, on one side of the garden, flowers will appear enclosed in oversized laboratory beakers and test tubes, whilst on the adjacent side; they reappear, transformed into giant paper blooms. Incorporating digital innovation, the garden will also feature augmented reality images on giant screens dividing the garden, which will leap into life when viewed through a phone or tablet.

Deb Bee, Harrods Director of Creative Marketing, comments: “We’re delighted to be exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2015. We are committed to giving our customers an innovative experience and creating a concept garden in collaboration with an award-winning designer is an ideal platform from which to do this.”

Designer, Sheena Seeks continues: “This is a fantastic opportunity, working with Harrods, to create a truly innovative garden. Designing this garden has given me the freedom to explore the idea of the garden as a space where nature meets technology.”

And, bringing the botanicals to the Knightsbridge store, throughout May, Harrods is awash with florals, as key beauty brands from Clinique to Valentino supersize their famous floral scents to pop up across the Brompton Road windows, while white peonies and roses adorn entrances, as delightful Easter lilies scent the store.

In keeping with the scent story of Pop-Up Flowers, on 28th May the IFF will be hosting a Speed Smelling fragrance event where renowned perfumers and fragrance experts will be present as guests are invited to ‘speed’ sample some new scents. To celebrate the event, the perfumers have created a Speed Smelling fragrance coffret which houses a stunning selection of the scents, presented in an exquisite white leather case. The limited edition coffret is exclusively on sale in Salon De Parfums on the Sixth Floor.

For the foodie fan, throughout the month of May, The Tea Room on the Second Floor at Harrods is offering a delightful floral afternoon tea featuring lavender-scented pâtisserie and rose and jasmine teas, the newly opened restaurant Chai Wu on the Fifth Floor presents a botanical-themed menu which runs from 19th to 23rd May, and there will also be an array of beautiful food items decorated and flavoured to replicate flowers available exclusively from the Harrods Food Halls plus a selection of mouth-watering tastings and sampling on food and beverages.
