Now Online: The Need-To-Know Brands

For Spring/Summer 2016, we’ve curated an edit of new names and classic brands, so whether you’re looking to re-invigorate your wardrobe or find that perfect hero piece, these are the labels to familiarise yourself with this season.

Narciso Rodriguez
Finding fame in the ‘90s, Narciso Rodriguez is renowned for a unique brand of minimalism. Specialising in restrained design that’s striking in its simplicity - think sharp, tailored silhouettes and strong colours - his pieces display a purity of form that makes them ideal for more formal events.

Peter Pilotto
London-based brand Peter Pilotto, comprised of the titular Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, is beloved by the likes of Miranda Kerr and Emma Watson for its digital prints and an indulgence in colour. Even those who tend to shy away from print will be entranced by their collections, which use a combination of pattern and shapely silhouettes to flatter the figure. The designers’ Aegean-inspired Kia dress is particularly notable, evoking mosaic tiling and sun-kissed vistas in its crisp palate of refreshing aquamarine shades.

Marc Jacobs
It’s the mercurial Marc Jacobs' capacity for reinvention that has kept the designer as relevant today as he was when he presented his very first collection in 1986. For Spring/Summer 2016, it was the varsity jacket that caught our eye on the runway. Embellished with a range of Americana-inspired badges, it shows that no matter how unpredictable Marc may be, you can always rely on him to pay attention to the little details.

Giambattista Valli
Characterised by rich palettes, luxurious fabrics and elaborate decoration, Giambattista Valli’s collections are the very picture of Parisian opulence. A red carpet favourite, the Italian designer has dressed some of the world’s most stylish women – Emma Stone, Keira Knightley and Diane Kruger, to name a few - in his experimental designs. This season, we’re loving his fresh twist on the classic bouclé jacket: a beautifully tailored take on power dressing, it achieves a flattering silhouette thanks to its padded shoulders and peplum skirt.
