Roland Mouret

Defining the era of the iconic dress, Roland Mouret is the name behind a cult collection of ultra-feminine designs, including Galaxy, Titanium and Moon, favoured by contemporary fashion icons including The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. Heralded as ‘the master of structure and silhouette’, it is an intuitive understanding of the female shape that informs the designer’s instantly recognisable design aesthetic. Born in Lourdes, France, Mouret credits his father’s butcher’s shop with instilling in him an understanding of folding and cutting. In development, each dress is instinctively created by draping fabric on the body, rather than drawing sketches, resulting in a fit that is second to none; from signature full-length zips to intricate origami folds, no detail is left to chance.
