The Dalmore: A Pioneering Spirit
They say good things come to those who wait – but The Dalmore has proven the adage with a masterpiece 60 years in the making. To mark the legendary whisky maker’s 180th anniversary, two ex-sherry casks that were laid down in 1951 have been reunited in an unforgettable whisky: The Dalmore 60 Year Old. Just one special decanter of this extremely rare single malt exists, and it’s only available at Harrods.
The Dalmore’s pursuit for the perfect whisky stretches over 180 years. Matured in twin casks – the very last casks of the great Mackenzie era – the precious liquid is a fitting tribute to the talents of its distillers past and present.
Nurtured by Master Distiller Richard Paterson in a labour of love, the casks evolved in different ways, maturing slowly over six decades. Reunited, they make an exceptional single malt that's greater than the sum of its parts.
The deep mahogany liquid – rich with flashes of copper and amber gold – promises an overture of aged oloroso sherry; treacle toffee and liquorice on the nose, and pecan pie, banana fig cake and almond on the palate.
Going, going, gone! Silent bidding for this one-of-a-kind decanter took place from 1st to 14th December 2020. To discover more rare and exclusive whiskies from The Dalmore, simply email [email protected].
