Prestat

Shop Prestat

Famed for dreaming up indulgent truffles and treats, Prestat has long been fine chocolatier of choice to a coterie of stars from theatrical legend John Gielgud to rock stars Rod Steward and Sir Paul McCartney. Founded in 1902 by French émigré Antoine Dufour, a chocolatier from a family of confectioners, Prestat popularised his family’s invention - the cocoa-dusted chocolate truffle. Boasting strong theatrical and cultural links, Prestat created a violet crème for 1900s actress Sarah Bernhardt, whilst Charlie & The Chocolate Factory author Roald Dahl famously made the house’s truffles the centrepiece of 1979 novel My Uncle Oswald. Granted a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen, Prestat is strongly committed to trading fairly with cocoa producers alongside handcrafting original, luxurious chocolates.
