Harrods ‘House of Design’ Exhibition13 September 2017 - 27 September 2017Furniture, Third Floor
To celebrate London Design Festival 2017, Harrods has created the ‘House of Design’ exhibition – a scaled-down Knightsbridge neighbourhood, made up of tiny townhouses. Thirteen miniature townhouses have been created by brands stocked across the Second and Third Floors, and are a result of the innovative use of unique materials and artisanal expertise. Annalise Fard, Director of Home at Harrods describes the exhibition: "Each and every townhouse being displayed in our exhibition is a masterpiece in itself, and together, the effect is truly show-stopping."
The broad range of designs have come from the likes of Welsh designer, Bethan Gray, who has used her townhouse to showcase the marquetry, brass and ombre staining techniques which have become synonymous with her style, and Richard Brendon, a contemporary tableware designer, who has decorated the interior walls of his townhouse with antique English teacups.
During the exhibition there will be demonstrations craft from three brands:
- Meissen: Friday 15th & Saturday 16th September, 1-6pm
- Burleigh: Sunday 17th September 1-6pm
- Kristjana S Williams: Saturday 23rd September 1-3pm
