Jaeger-LeCoultre

Craftsmanship, artistry and imagination come to life at Jaeger-LeCoultre. Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre, over thirty years of collaboration between the LeCoultre family and French watchmaker Edmond Jaeger at the beginning of the 20th century led to the official launch of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand in 1937.

Still based in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, where LeCoultre first set up a small watchmaking workshop, the pioneering brand has gone onto design and develop over 1000 different movements and counts more than 400 registered patents to its name.

From its founder’s invention of the Millionmetre – the most precise measuring tool of its time – in 1844, to the creation of the Calibre 101, which weighs just one gram and was worn by Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation, every element of a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch’s mechanism continues to be created entirely in-house.

  • True Craftsmanship, In House
  • Jaeger-LeCoultre has used rubies within the construction of its watches since 1902, relying on the stones to aid positioning, reduce friction, prolong the piece’s lifetime and serve as oil reservoirs for lubrication.

  • The Reverso

One of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most iconic designs, the first Reverso was released in 1931 as a response to polo-playing British officers based in India who were tired of finishing a match with broken watch faces.

Celebrated as a fine example of Art Deco design, the Reverso’s rotating face continues to captivate to this day, sports player or not.
