Born into one of Florence’s most illustrious families, Emilio Pucci was a renaissance man in every sense of the word, with a well-endowed background of travelling and education. What began with a streamlined ski outfit he initially designed for himself in 1947 soon turned him into a fashion phenomenon appealing to the eyes of glamorous socialites and jet-setters. Showcasing his first womenswear collection in 1951, his designs featured free-flowing lines with the allure of couture but that could still be worn both day and evening. Expanding to interiors, eyewear, lingerie and perfumery, Pucci drew inspiration from his exotic travels, in particular the natural landscapes of the Mediterranean. A seminal force, his use of vivid colour and iconic 'Pucci prints' remain at the heart of the label, today helmed by Massimo Giorgetti, and continue to enchant fashion fans.
