The Beauty Prep With Vic Ceridono

Demo-ing how to work the season’s chic shade into a day-to-night beauty look, Glamour Brasil International Editor-At-Large, former Vogue Brasil Beauty Editor and Blogger at Dia de Beauté, Vic Ceridono, gets her pink make-up look on-point and shares a snapshot of her life in beauty...

No need to be afraid of it, pink tones can look modern and are so flattering. The key to making this look wearable is in combining the pink with more neutral shades, like brown – particularly on the eyes. For a smoky effect, always remember to blend more than you normally would, using a soft shadow brush, so you get the proper smudgy, smoked effect.

Pink is a pretty universal colour to try in some way for the season. Although some may feel it may look too girlie or even make them look tired, my tip is to use stronger and darker shades, like a rich brown eyeshadow, as well as brown or black eyeliner and black mascara in order to define the eyes and make them pop. This way you can work with any shade of pink, blend it, soften it or amp it up – depending on your preference.

For this look I started with the Intensive Infusion Daily Moisturiser, then applied the Illuminating Primer. I added Traceless Perfecting Foundation and covered-up any imperfections with Concealing Pen in Light. I used the Brow Sculptor in Espresso, then added Eye Primer Duo, Eye Defining Pencil in Espresso and Onyx and of course, the Eye Color Quad in Disco Dust. Then, to perfect the look, I opted for Lip Contour Duo in Fling it On, Shade & Illuminate Cheek and the Illuminating Powder in Translucent Pink. TOM FORD products have such an amazing colour and texture range, plus have really great staying-power.

  • "Take care of your skin to need as little coverage as possible. There’s nothing like the beauty of natural skin"

I think I was born loving beauty. From a young age I knew I wanted to work in magazines. Both at Vogue, now Glamour, and my blog, Dia de Beauté, which is nine years old, the experience of sharing information with people and learning from them as well, I feel really lucky.

My first experience with beauty products were stolen from my mom, who didn't really wear much make-up. I've always been obsessed with the transforming power of make-up and how enhancing your looks can change your self-esteem, your posture, your mind.

Always take care of your skin so you need as little coverage as possible – there’s nothing like the beauty of natural skin. I'm a true believer in the power of taking the time to put into your skincare. I avoid tanning on my face and always keep out of the sun, I also religiously remove my make-up before bed and cleanse in the evening. I like to balance my skin with face oils - they make my complexion feel so happy. If I could only use one product for the rest of my life it would be a multi-benefit oil that I could use on my face, body and hair.

I travel a lot which makes it harder to maintain a wellness routine. I try to eat mainly fresh and non-processed or artificial food and drink a lot of green tea. Exercising is hard to find time for as well but I'm determined to make more room for it this year. I love playing squash and practicing yoga.

When it comes to my make-up technique, I’m all for experimenting. There are no rules – most of the time I combine brush and fingers for the best effect, depending on the texture of the product.

Perfume has to be TOM FORD Neroli Portofino or Costa Azzura – they smell just like summer. And Vert Boheme too, it’s super feminine and the perfect scent for special occasions. With perfume, I do stick to my favourites, but I love experimenting and choosing the right perfume for the event, as I would an outfit.
