"Dress boldly and live fearlessly" was the compelling message at Temperley London, the encouraging directive placed on show-goers' seats for the unveiling of the designer's Autumn/Winter 2018 collection at Seymour Leisure Centre. A tribute to Amelia Earhart and her fellow formidable female aviators, out came the Temperley Trailblazers, the first dressed in an olive green jumpsuit decked in military embroidered patches, followed by an array of knitted jumpsuits and refined dresses cinched in at the waist with gold medallion buckle-style belts and paired with boxy jackets.
A host of dramatic prints – inspired by the startling night's star-covered sky and vintage airmail stamps – adorned lightly tailored suits and off-duty dresses, which were polished with delicate silk neckerchiefs and boxing boots. Alongside this turn to daywear, the brand’s familiar floor-skimming eveningwear was Hollywood-inspired; intricately embroidered and complete with thigh-skimming slits, cut-out panels and sequin embellishment. Romanticism at its very best, it’s up up and away for the season to come.
