Alberta Ferretti AW17

Nailing its social media game has been a revolutionary move for the Italian fashion house helmed by Alberta Ferretti. Once known mainly for its red carpet-approved gowns (no small feat, we recognise), the label's tactical moves into other categories have meant serious Instagram love and a wider appeal. Case in point: the days-of-the-week jumpers donned by the models over their show looks in the final parade. Slim, crafted from featherweight cashmere and in a range of shades from the classic to the novelty, they were already well known by the fashion crowd before they hit the runway, so much were they 'grammed by influencers and celebrities.
Rewind to earlier in the show, chunkier knits with naval-inspired trimmings also felt fresh, teamed with sailor-cut trousers. Outerwear was bang on trend with sweeping capes layered over multiple looks and resolving the conundrum of what to wear over ankle-skimming lengths. And, of course, those gowns were impossible to ignore: from Gigi Hadid's romantic floral opening number that was perfectly paired with a printed cape, to sheer chiffon gowns in shades of red, plum and ochre, to monochrome striped dresses that will always be in style. A celeb would be hard-pressed to pick just one from the line-up; the dilemma is now there's even more choice.
