Bella Hadid is having a Milan moment. By day two of the Italian leg of the collections the raven-haired beauty had already opened two shows and walked in as many more, but it was Fendi she was really excited about and we can see why. For Spring/Summer 2017 the legendary Italian fashion house's woman was given a modern Rococo makeover courtesy of voluminous, ribbon-tied gowns that were cinched at the waist and then cascaded down the body. In sorbet shades of apricot, blush and mint they were feminine but not saccharine thanks to sporty accents including cargo pockets and thick stripes.
Knitwear was a key feature, coming cropped and sliced just under the bust and worn with A-line midis or cropped, tailored pantaloons. Shirting continues to be a big feature on the runways – here it appeared in cotton twill with balloon sleeves.
This season also saw the debut of the new Kan I lock bag, which was adorned with floral ribbons, rosettes and pastel-hued studs. Patent go-go boots, gold-encrusted lips and plastic hair clips completed Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini's playful vision.
