Moschino AW18

From My Little Pony to cleaning products, flower gowns to paper dolls, if it’s hyper-fun you’re after - in the most energetic sense of the word – then Moschino is the show that never sleeps. Unleashing the vivid and vibrant imaginations of Jeremy Scott, for this season, the designer let us into his secret, a conspiracy not only about the JFK and supposed Marilyn Monroe assassinations, but his theory that Jackie Kennedy, was in fact, an alien. Cue a parade of robotic pop Jackie Os from a galaxy far, far away, morphing into an all-out Marilyn moment to wrap up the collection.

Model-of-the-moment Kaia Gerber opened the show, instantly convincing us of her dead-ringer for Jackie O status – who knew? Meanwhile, Bella and Gigi Hadid went head-to-head in their respective First Lady and film star retro-space-age gilded gowns. Exploring the full spectrum of Jackie, from the more demure quintessential pill-box hat and Chanel-esque suit combo in extreme brights, through to a mash-up of Pop-Art-meets-prescription-pills and candy-wrapper prints, culminating in the 'If A UFO Was A Bombshell' story, this was Scott in his element, making a fantastical case for his conspiracy, yes, but also that for next season, we all need a little space-opera, alien-chic in our lives.
