In his third season as Creative Director of Roberto Cavalli, Peter Dundas was inspired by the wanderlust of the pagan traveller in a collection that fused cultures and eras with patchwork at its core.

Here, Japanese silks, Egyptian cotton, tribal embroidery, Victorian silhouettes and jaguar prints from Africa collided on boho-beautiful slip dresses, velvet jackets, gauzy printed blouses and lace-up gossamer beaded gowns in a palette of sun-bleached chambray, ombré pastels and sunset hues of gold and orange. Underlying the collection was the inimitable Cavalli rock ‘n’ roll edge, with lace-up denim and lashings of leopard featuring heavily.

Set in a palazzo that was done up to look like a souk, all lantern lighting, incense and rich tapestries, the show had a more intimate feel to it than seasons past and the line-up seemed to be Dundas' most considered offering since the beginning of his tenure at the fashion house.
