Ten years into his career and Phillip Lim has carved himself out to be the go-to designer for contemporary tailoring, deftly mixing off-duty accents into perfectly cut separates. For Autumn/Winter 2016, the designer put forward a series of looks that were seemingly inspired by the English countryside and peppered them with urban touches.

A perfectly contoured tweed suit was brought up to date with elasticated hems on the trousers and slide flatforms. Parkas came sliced around the arms and shoulders for an armour-like effect; layered over deconstructed dresses and finished off with velvet booties, they were the perfect mash-up of country-meets-city.

Meanwhile, chemise dresses were sliced diagonally across the body with contrasting fabrics for added texture. Outerwear has long been a forte of Lim's; this season saw the label's signature sheepskin reworked as a sleeveless trench, while leather coats were adorned with utilitarian straps that trailed behind the models. The palette was warm, with shades ranging from khaki, tobacco, copper, mustard and raspberry, evoking an earthy yet sophisticated feel.
