Monique Lhuillier SS17

With 20 years behind her in the fashion industry, Monique Lhuiller took the opportunity to return to some of the founding principles of her label and reinterpret them in an unexpected way for Spring/Summer 2017. Inspired by a surrealist fairy tale, the designer paraded beaded organza gowns with floral embroidered necklines and diaphanous gowns with ostrich feathered hems – low key this was not. Sure to please Lhuillier's myriad A-list clientele were the sequined columns with oxidised paillettes decorating the sleeves.

But it wasn't all red carpet gowns, there were plenty of flirty floral skirts and slinky playsuits for a modern take on after-hours dressing and mink jackets in dip-dyed powdery pastels topping several of the looks.
