With models walking through three rooms, each one painted a different colour – one pink, one burgundy, one blue – and décor also painted so that it literally blended in, Amy Smilovic declared of the latest Tibi collection: "It’s about every moment of a woman’s life and looking your best, whether you’re at home or the office or outside." A seasoned purveyor of real clothes for real women, how does this translate for Autumn/Winter 2017? First up: suiting, the oversized silhouette and exaggerated shoulders of recent seasons – think Balenciaga et al – slightly reduced and tempered by slim leg trousers and miniskirts.
Dresses, meanwhile, were of the oh-so-easy-to-wear variety, long sleeve and mostly midi length, sometimes layered over leggings, often with a funnel necks. A simple switch from versatile knitted styles to those in satin and sumptuous velvet signified the shift from day to night – after all, no matter her surroundings, the Tibi woman is always on point.
