While Phoebe Philo continues her mission to provide the ultimate minimalist capsule wardrobe, even she has been known to add embellishment to her linear silhouettes of late. For Autumn/Winter 2016 this meant extra-pointy collars and longer cuffs on sheer white shirts, ruched sides on satin tunics and piped utilitarian coats. Paired with super-slouchy mannish trousers in neutral shades, they had the effortlessness of summer with the luxe of winter heavyweights.
Coats stole the spotlight in their various textures, from a petrol blue leather mac to a tobacco-hued shell that was belted over an on-tone croc duster. Knots and untied ribbons featured heavily throughout the collection, appearing on sleeveless tunics, easy shift dresses and even handbags, which were dual-toned and as lust-worthy as ever.
