Paris Fashion Week

Christian Dior might have been minus a creative director (Raf Simons announced his departure from the famed fashion house shortly after the Spring/Summer 2016 show) but there was no absence of showmanship at the Carousel de Louvre this season, where attendees sat in a dramatic mirrored hall to see the fruits of the team’s labour modelled by the likes of Lineisy Montero and Kendall Jenner in her Dior debut.

Following on from the agenda set by Simons, the collection was both ladylike and contemporary, featuring wasp-waisted dresses, belted blazers, printed blouses with high collars and elegant trapeze coats - those adorned with dyed mink linings were the final say in luxury. Sleeves on dresses, knits and shirting came in balloon shapes or off-the-shoulder, proving this summer’s trend is not about to go away, while dress silhouettes were either short and A-line, teamed with lace-up ankle booties, or pencil slim and nipped at the waist; ladylike all the way.
