With a front row studded with the top bloggers in the industry (Gary Pepper Girl's Nicole Warne, Song of Style's Aimee Song and The Blonde Salad's Chiara Ferragni) and some serious model power on the runway (Kendall Jenner watched on by mum Kris, Gigi Hadid and Lily Donaldson), designer Elie Saab certainly is in tune with his pop culture.
With this in mind, the designer presented a whole lot more than gowns this season, with silhouettes, garments, colours and finishes that were diverse and varied. In other words, dressed-up or dressed-down, there was plenty of choice. Fresh florals came stamped on silk bomber jackets, flippy skirts and shorts, while leather was laser-cut to resemble lace on jackets and short skirts. Gowns were show-stopping, crafted from broderie anglaise and trailing ribbons. Colours were rich and vivid, comprising hibiscus, lawn green and azure contrasted with crisp white and sleek black.
