Nicolas Ghesquière continues to pull in the A-listers and his autumn/winter show for Louis Vuitton was no exception – Alicia Vikander, Léa Seydoux, Jaden Smith and Selena Gomez were just some of the celebs gracing this season’s front row.
Since joining the French fashion house in November 2013, the designer has made it his mission to re-energise the brand’s ready-to-wear by lending archival pieces a supremely contemporary air. This season, heritage accents such as chain prints were given a new lease of life by being stamped on asymmetrical silk dresses that were teamed with gutsy biker boots. Meanwhile, elbow-length gloves were paired with T-shirt dresses and overcoats were sliced off just under the bust for a cropped twist on outerwear.
Knitwear continues to grow as a category at several fashion houses but at LV sweaters are more sumptuous than anywhere else – mohair numbers came colour-blocked and in sporty shapes, acting as the perfect accompaniment to a pair of leather biker pants.
