Credited as “the true embodiment of an artist born of the post-internet generation,” Heron Preston launched his eponymous label after working for Nike and involvement with Kanye West’s Yeezy line and Life of Pablo album. Having studied at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, Preston includes creative director, designer and DJ in his impressive skillset. His commitment to innovation, the influence of experimental youth culture and social issues is evident through his work, a standout example being the recent ‘UNIFORM’ project – a collaboration with the NYC Department of Sanitation on a series of zero-waste-themed pieces. Characterised by a utilitarian-meets-street style aesthetic, key silhouettes include oversized hoodies and sweatshirts, block colours and camouflage – all emblazoned with graphic texts and images.
