New Season: Men’s Trends & Brands to Know for AW23
September signals a shift in mindset. For the kids in your life, it’s back to school. Virgo season if you subscribe to astrology. In the fashion world, it’s the time when high summer pivots to autumn/winter – a step change you’ll see reflected in Menswear on the Second Floor. Here are some of the designers, trends and accessories you’ll find this season at Harrods.
Spotlight On: Loewe
What Succession began, the AW23 season continues. ‘Quiet luxury’ is now firmly established within the menswear lexicon – a language in which Loewe is fluent. Jonathan Anderson’s latest collection leads by reductionism, with a focused colour palette that defers to fabric innovation as the season’s headline. On the runway, unexpected materials from parchment to copper – inspired by American artist Julien Nguyen – alternated with Loewe’s signature leather, the basis of its new Puzzle Tote. Elsewhere, immaculate tailoring and rigorously crafted outerwear continue a story of practicality and decisive sophistication.

NEW SUITS
Though much unchanged for decades, the workwear landscape has altered irrevocably over the past three years. Its latest incarnation points to tailoring with a twist – whether it’s a unique button on a double-breasted jacket, an unexpected silhouette, or prints to counterpoint a classic two-piece.

STATEMENT KNITWEAR
That autumn wardrobes go heavy on knitwear is nothing new – but this season the will for wool operates in overdrive. Bright colours, bold intarsia and XXL shapes, talking-point sweaters are sizing up to be the season’s key investments.
Trending Jackets
Where oversized knits lead, jackets follow – you’ll need something roomy to accommodate chunkier autumn layers. Designers answer the call with outsized varsity and bomber jackets. Once purely utility-wear, such pieces arrive with fresh dynamism for a new season.
The Latest: Accessories
There’s a polished ease about the latest accessories to arrive in Menswear at Harrods. Fresh to the Second Floor, you’ll find smart loafers by way of Thom Browne, Prada and Loake, made with supple leather – comfortable in feel, classic in look.
