Cordelia de Castellane adores Christmas. Every year, she transforms her country home into a winter wonderland and, as befits the artistic director of Dior Maison, it’s decorated in the chicest of fashions. At the centre of it all is her Christmas table – and this year, to celebrate The Fabulous World of Dior at Harrods, she talked us through how to style a breathtaking tablescape, so you too can dine with Dior this festive season.

"When styling tables I like to surprise my guests with little details, especially at Christmas. This year, I’ve made some little gingerbread cookies, with the name of my guests on them. Crackers are also super important; I like to make my own and fill them with sweets."
“From the Christmas collection, the beautiful plates are inspired by the patterns of the Cruise Collection designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri in Seville. To contrast with their contemporary style, I’ve placed them on a vintage off-white tablecloth.”
“I’ve added a touch of colour by using blue water tumblers; I like to mix things up so not everything is matching.”
A Table in Bloom
"Instead of vases I used little cups for the flowers, which I surrounded in moss. For the arrangements, I picked alliums from my garden, which I dried and sprayed gold, but you can pick whichever flowers you want, then mix them with fresh white flowers."
DECK THE HALLS
“For the atmosphere, the room around the table is very important. I pay a lot of attention to my mantelpiece, light a lot of candles and, this year, I’ll be hanging baubles from the chandelier above the table using transparent wires, so they’ll look like they’re magically floating.”

"Of course, what would Christmas be without music? I always suggest playing some beautiful songs or Sinatra in the background."
