Red Hot: LoubiWorld Has Landed
Ever wondered what it would be like to get a glimpse inside the mind of one of the greatest designers of all time? With Loubiworld – Christian Louboutin’s first fragrance collection – you're invited to do just that. Seven perfumes take you on a journey through the rich and eccentric imagination of the iconic shoe designer. "Each fragrance was born from a creative impulse: an image, a scent, a feeling or a memory that stood out to me,” says Louboutin.
A Powerful Friendship
The collection is further bought to life with the help of illustrator – and Louboutin’s close friend – Hélène Tran. “If the Loubiworld fragrances are a journey through my imagination, Hélène’s illustrations are like a fantastic tour guide, escorting you through each land and showing you the best sights!” says Louboutin.
"It really means a lot to be able to share these private dream worlds with the real world.”
A Taste of the Collection
“It's intriguing, almost like an old book of spells, a castle that has long been enclosed, or furniture that has lived a full life,” says Louboutin of Loubicrown – imagined by perfumer Christophe Raynaud. The oriental-woody perfume is adorned with a crown-shaped cap, which represents aristocracy and wealth. The composition blends notes of patchouli with cedar and tonka for that comforting, old-worldly vibe.
Inspired by samba dancing, which holds a special place in Louboutin’s heart, Loubifunk is a floral rose fragrance with a twist – created by perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu. The bottle is crowned with a pineapple to reflect its festive, fun spirit, and combines notes of Turkish rose, blackcurrant and patchouli.
“In my mind, Loubicroc is linked to sacred dancers in pharaonic temples. Smelling it, I think of goddesses within temples, and women wearing peploses, like in the film Cleopatra,” says Louboutin. In this spirit, the fragrance’s crocodile cap represents the keeper of the secrets of the pyramids. Created by perfumer Daphné Bugey as a powerful spicy oriental scent, the intense juice contains myrrh, cypriol and sandalwood.
In Louboutin's words, Loubirouge is "like the scent of a Parisian woman who doesn’t want to reveal the fragrance she’s wearing; the perfume suits her identity so well that she doesn’t want to share her secret.” Expect to find a sensual trace of cardamom, iris and vanilla in this mysterious creation, created by perfumer Marie Salamagne.
And there are three more LoubiWorld fragrances to discover. Which one will you invite into your world?
