Matthew M. Williams’ arrival at Givenchy signified a new dawn of the historic maison – a meeting of sensibilities. Classic and contemporary. Tradition and innovation.
Following his debut last year, Williams looked to Autumn/Winter 2021 to solidify his message. The “pursuit of a more personal luxury,” reads his Givenchy manifesto. No rules, fewer restrictions.
That’s not to say you won’t still find Givenchy signatures – there’s no shortage of immaculate tailoring and outerwear this season. But, expect streetwear nuances peppered throughout; an absence of traditional fastenings, and U-shaped hardware in their place. Utilitarian meets polished. The message? One man can be both.
