British Fashion Awards 2011

29 November 2011

Victoria Beckham fought back the tears last night as she accepted the award for Designer Brand at the British Fashion Awards 2011. The former pop star was in good company with other winners including Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, as the esteemed Designer of the Year, and Stella McCartney as winner of The Red Carpet Award.

Held in the lavish surroundings of London's Savoy Hotel, team Harrods watched as Kate Moss, Alexa Chung (winner of the British Style Award) and model Stella Tennant (crowned Model of the Year) showed support for the British Fashion industry.

Creative director at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, was commended for "Allowing McQueen's legacy to live on while giving her own twist of creative genius."  While Victoria Beckham's winning eponymous brand, stocked in-store on Harrods' First Floor was praised for its "focused growth strategy" and "media praise."

Other winners included Style Director at Louis Vuitton, Kim Jones as Menswear Designer and Charlotte Dellal as Accessory Designer of the Year for her '40s and '50s inspired footwear label Charlotte Olympia.
