The Beginning
Bobbi's love affair with makeup started at an early age
when she discovered her mother's collection of cosmetics.
This passion for beauty continued into Bobbi's teens and led her to
Emerson College in Boston, where she earned a degree in theatrical
makeup.
After graduating, Bobbi headed for New York City to work as a
professional makeup artist, but soon became frustrated by the lack
of flattering makeup on the market. A chance meeting with a chemist
at a magazine photo shoot changed everything. "I had the
idea to create a lipstick that didn't smell, wasn't greasy, and
looked like lips, only better". The idea became a reality
with the creation of ten lipsticks that enabled a woman to create
an infinite number of wearable shades, just by mixing and blending
them.
The Beauty Revolution
Bobbi debuted her line of lipsticks in 1991 at Bergdorf Goodman
in New York City - and it was clear that a beauty revolution was
underway. Women instantly embraced her uniquely flattering
makeup and realistic approach to beauty.
As an entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three, Bobbi continues
to strike a chord with consumers - it's about achieving and
maintaining balance, cultivating a positive outlook, and loving
yourself the way you are. "The secret to beauty is simple -
be who you are." - Bobbi Brown
