Marc by Marc Jacobs AW15
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it", the saying goes, and clearly, after three seasons, Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley's mash-up of streetwear, sportswear and prom girl partywear is still going strong. The design duo presented their Autumn/Winter collection, titled Solidarity, on an AstroTurf-covered pitch with A-listers including Alexa Chung and Amber Le Bon watching from the front row. Army gear was a definite influence, with camouflage foliage stamped onto canvas separates, military jackets featuring oversized pockets, Che Guevara-style berets and heavily-studded boots appearing on the models. Kilts were layered over buckled leather trousers and slogans were printed onto the panels of silk blouses and cargo pants. Jacobs' signature prom dresses were reworked in shades of cerulean, scarlet and black and featured lace sleeves or ruffled skirts but were toughened up with chunky shoes and leather waist pouches. Bags came in boxy shapes with top handles in black and olive.
Who we saw: Alexa Chung.
What they wore: A shimmery gold pleated skirt and a black blazer.
In a nutshell: Clothes guaranteed to revolutionise.
