Interview With: Miroslava Duma
What do you love most about being a digital investor?
The pleasure of working in digital and investing in digital projects is the fast development. Look at what happened with Instagram - it started as an iPhone application and has now changed people’s lives. Working with digital projects, you see the progress. Imagine 10 or 15 years ago, we were buying CDs, now iTunes has taken over. The internet is a like a cosmos that makes miracles.
"There are some really iconic ladies in Hollywood at the moment. Tilda Swinton, Diane Kruger, Chloë Sevigny – they have a fearless sense of style."
What do you think a person’s style should say about them?
I think that a person’s style can tell you a lot about them, starting from the colours that a person is wearing to the length of their skirt. One person may be happy wearing a transparent blouse while another person is happy to only wear black. It’s all about freedom of personal choice.
Whose style are you really loving right now?
There are some really iconic ladies in Hollywood at the moment. Tilda Swinton, Diane Kruger, Chloë Sevigny – they have a fearless sense of style. Gwyneth Paltrow is great; I love how effortless her style is.
What are your style rules for Spring/Summer 2014?
No rules at all. Just work with your body and be comfortable in what you’re wearing. I used to experiment with fashion a lot and every time I saw a new trend, I would want to wear it. But then I would realise that it didn’t necessarily suit me, even though I loved it. Now I just opt for what I feel looks good on me and what I enjoy wearing.
Can you describe your style in three words?
Experimental, eclectic and classical.
If you could have just one dress you wear for the rest of your life, which designer would it be?
It’s difficult because everything changes so quickly. If you ask me today, Valentino, but tomorrow it might be someone else.
Why have you chosen to collaborate with Fabergé?
I was approached by the fantastic team and I was honoured as it is very important to me. The company comes from Russia, where I come from, and has such a great history and heritage; it was so exciting to collaborate with a company like that.
What do you think of the new Fabergé jewellery?
Very contemporary, cool and stylish. You can find something very traditional and classical but at the same time something very young. I love antique-style jewellery so that’s why, when I saw the small Fabergé pendant eggs, I thought they were just exquisite - those are the eggs that I would just dream to wear.
