On Location: Into The Wilderness
For Into The Wilderness, we took to the dreamy landscapes of Meribel in France. Against an ethereal, alpine backdrop, we shot our models in the latest AW14 must-haves.
Setting the scene for our shoot was Chalet Les Brames, a luxurious ski chalet set in private grounds in the exclusive Brames enclave. Only a short drive from the beautiful lakes, the views were magnificent and provided the perfect setting for Into The Wilderness.
Rooms were set over three floors with amazing interiors and featured a sauna, an outdoor hot tub, a cinema, Billiards and so much more, making Chalet Les Brames the perfect place to relax after a day shooting – highly recommended if you’re an avid skier and need a comfortable and tranquil haven after a day on the slopes.
“Black and white makes for a contemporary seasonal update and where better to capture this than among the mountainous backdrops in Meribel? Teaming cashmere knits with full skirts and floor-length black gowns, outdoor style takes an exciting and modern turn this season,” says Claudia De Meis, harrods.com’s Online Fashion Editor.
So perfect was the location of Chalet Les Brames for Into The Wilderness, we also shot After The Rain here, taking advantage of the authentic surroundings: “You want to look just as chic on the slopes as you do off them and Chalet Les Brames offered the ultimate luxury backdrop for After The Rain’s après ski-inspired dress code. Channelled using Stella McCartney’s sporty aesthetic combined with Alexander Wang knitwear and Saint Laurent biker boots, the looks were super-stylish, yet maintained function and practicality,” commented Claudia.
