Harrods To Switch Off For Earth Hour
The sparkling façade is one of the things that makes the Harrods storefront so special and an instantly-recognisable landmark, which is why our participation in WWF’s Earth Hour is all the more important. Along with other global landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building, the Brompton Road store will be turning off its exterior lights for an hour on Saturday 29th March at 8:30pm, highlighting the need to protect our planet.
Usually illuminated by 5,000 10 watt Xenon lamps, some of the best energy-saving types available, the dark store front will be all the more captivating in their absence and we are extremely proud to be taking part in such an exciting and inspiring event, highlighting Harrods’ dedication to being a responsible business.
The World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour has become a global phenomenon and 2013 saw a record-breaking 154 countries take part, with London landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and St. Paul’s Cathedral joining in, alongside 3,400 schools and 1,200 businesses across the UK.
Do your bit for Earth Hour and switch off your lights at 8:30pm on Saturday 29th March, or come visit us in-store to mark this special event.
