Suitcase Magazine's Insider LC:M Hotspots

As London Collections: Men Spring/Summer 2016 kicks off, we've teamed up with Suitcase Magazine's Editor-In-Chief, Serena Guen, to bring you the insider's guide to the coolest hangouts and hidden gems the capital city has to offer.

LC:M is a whirlwind that requires constant refuelling and a good drink to relax with at the end of the day. Rule number one – convenience is king, with that in mind, here are the best places to eat, drink and be merry:

Breakfast
Start your day how you wish to continue it. Avocado toast at media hangout Riding House Café is always a safe option near enough to the action. If you want something a bit more interesting then head to NOPI for black rice porridge and interesting juices and you can’t go wrong with a classic breakfast of pastries and scrambled eggs at The Delauney.

Quick Bite…
Between shows, you will not have the luxury of a sit-down meal – or at least a very long one. Gooey cheese toasties from Meltroom will cure any hangover. Otherwise Bao is a current Soho-favourite, although make sure you don’t go at peak times unless you want to wait for hours.

Delancey and Co. assemble the ultimate bagels. Black Penny in Covent Garden for the gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian crowd.

Recharge...
Maison Assouline is a coffee-table book heaven in the form of a mansion on Piccadilly with beautiful teas and a fully stocked bar for those who want something a bit stronger.

Dinner...
Hanging around Somerset House? Then you must stop in at Spring for some fresh, seasonal dishes. Portland is a new crowd-pleaser serving up delicious small dishes (and plugs, trust me you’ll want these after a long day).

Social Wine and Tapas...
Atherton’s newest creation is set to be a winner. Hubbard and Bell in the Hoxton Hotel (Holborn) also wins as a convenient pit stop for later-night dining.

Drinks...
If the weather is nice you have two choices: Tom’s Terrace in Somerset House or the courtyard of the Hamyard Hotel. And if it’s not then, French implant La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels in Neal’s Yard is the perfect intimate wine bar.
