When Elsa Schiaparelli started designing clothes in the 1920s, she did so as a response to austerity in style in post-war Paris, relishing the fun women began to have with their clothes again. Current Artistic Director Daniel Roseberry takes this spirit into the 21st century with The Sphynx, the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection that saw a wild, fierce spirit combine with the founder’s love of the female form. One only needs to admire the trompe-l’oeil fur print and sculptural, textured corset detail to know he has succeeded in continuing her legacy.
