The connection between memory and smell is well known; it only takes one spritz of your wedding fragrance to transport you back to that special day, and we all have that summer fragrance that instantly transports us to somewhere far away. From a fleeting inspiration to the emotion a scent leaves behind, explore the memories, materials and moods woven into every bottle.
For Love Hibiscus, the journey begins with a vivid floral expression. “It was about capturing the emotion of a flower at its most expressive – vibrant, generous, and full of life,” says Renaud Salmon, Amouage’s chief creative officer. At the fragrance’s heart, hibiscus blooms with a lush, tactile warmth, its petal-soft freshness wrapped in creamy notes and contrasted by a salty caramel accord for a touch of sweetness.
Inspired by the finer things in life, particularly sophisticated city living, Super Oud is composed of “rarefied and precious ingredients to create a uniquely extravagant oud,” says Bond No.9 founder Laurice Rahmé. And extravagant it is. From its top notes of rich roasted Arabica coffee and warm, slightly sweet saffron to a heart of white rose and softly caramelised benzoin, it’s pure indulgence, from first spritz to the final dry down.
Harrods is where it all began for Roja Dove and it is a relationship that just makes sense; sharing a mutual appreciation for pushing niche fragrance boundaries and always putting British craftsmanship front and centre. Lost in Paris is a case in point. A jewel in the Prestige Collection's crown, the gem capped bottle is topped of with a violet crystal - a masterclass in luxury. Roja's most decadent fragrance to date, the mouth-watering ingredients list – blood orange, caramelised sugar, butter, Grand Marnier and caramel – reads like the naughtiest cocktail you dream of drinking again and again. And it is. “This scent is so irresistible, it acts as a reminder that even when you’re on top of the world, there’s always room for a little more indulgence – a little more luxury in life!” explains its creator.
Leave the harsh concrete jungle and step into nature’s welcoming embrace with a spritz of Silenzio. “For this creation, I was inspired by the natural force that fosters the fusion between man and nature,” says perfumer Jordi Fernández. That magnetic pull unfolds through a scintillating burst of Italian bergamot, drawing the senses in before softening into delicate oud and ylang-ylang. Finally, the magic settles into the skin-like scent of musk.
An ode to its namesake island, Yasat conjures up images of sun-soaked sprawls on blissful beaches. From sweet, woody notes of sandalwood and warm amber to delectable licks of vanilla and caramel, this juice is a mesmerising composition tinged with a subtle earthy note. For days when the beach isn’t an option, this is paradise in a bottle.
Sparked by a fleeting, yet distinctive, moment – sipping a refreshing hibiscus infusion during a respite from a bustling gemstone market – Hibiscus Mahajád is a lively collision of colour, texture and flavour. “I wanted to recreate that moment of surprise, when a familiar ingredient reveals itself in a completely unexpected way,” says Thibaud Crivelli, founder of Maison Crivelli. Tart hibiscus is pushed to its most intense expression alongside sweet rose and vanilla to create a bold, lingering trail that’s full of surprises.

“The most beautiful things are often the ones we think we already know,” says perfumer Stéphane Humbert Lucas, who relishes taking familiar ingredients to a place “where they are not expected.” And this scent is a perfect case in point. Fresh African mint becomes dark, textured and electric when paired with the rich sensuality of oud, tobacco and warm dates, becoming something dangerously seductive. “I wanted this fragrance to be vibrant yet deeply opulent,” muses the creative, and this green gem does indeed leave a trail that feels simultaneously regal and untamed.

“I wanted to resensualise musk... nothing has been too beautiful to bring to this unusual perfume – I wanted to bring warmth and texture without compromise,” says perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault. Over the Musk strips the note back to its most tactile expression; spices, amber wood and ambrette seed build depth and heat, giving musk weight and a distinctly physical presence. In other words, it is unmistakably Mugler in attitude.
