Studio Frantzén is Björn Frantzén’s latest restaurant, at the very top of Harrods, serving the Swedish chef’s critically acclaimed Nordic gastronomy with Asian influences – all set in a luxurious and contemporary interpretation of Scandinavian design.
Open until late, the space houses over 150 seats and there’s a buzzing dining area lined with intimate booths, a private dining area, and space at the kitchen counter promising a front-row seat to culinary excellence. Echoing the aesthetic of the flagship restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm, everything from the music and bespoke tableware to the hand-painted mural has been meticulously designed to create a harmonious atmosphere, while every attention has been made to offer impeccable and knowledgeable service.
For those in search of the perfect serve, there are two bars – including one with sweeping views over the city’s skyline. This winter, diners can expect a fully immersive festive experience out on the Studio Frantzen terrace. In time for the party season, Don Julio has transformed the incredible al fresco space into a seasonal paradise, complete with cosy blankets, skyline views and warming drinks courtesy of a Don Julio 1942 tequila-based cocktail menu.
If you’re in the market for a truly unforgettable New Year’s Eve, you can ring in 2024 at Studio Frantzén in spectacular fashion. Start the evening’s celebrations in style with an early supper in the dining room – available from 5pm – or opt for a late-night soiree with the cocktails-encouraged 8pm sitting. There are two set menus to choose from with both the vegetarian and feast options baring all the hallmarks of the chef’s world-renowned style. Throughout the night, you can also expect live performances from a DJ and saxophonist, and as the clock approaches midnight, guests can make their way onto the terrace for an unbeatable view of the fireworks with delicious bar snacks and a glass of Champagne in hand.
With the rest of the winter season in mind, Studio Frantzén will be taking its lead from Frantzén’s open-flame kitchen in Stockholm and serving dishes ‘from the fireplace’. The grilled porterhouse steak with pine-scented bone marrow and oxtail ponzu is as rich as it is refined, while the blistered lobster with curry hollandaise, pomegranate-infused mirin, dried cloudberries, ginger and coriander butter will occupy your dreams for weeks to come.
You’ll no doubt discover new flavours – fermented lingonberries, smoked pea soy or crispy lichens – and leave the restaurant wanting more. Not to worry, Björn Frantzén and his Executive Head Chef Marcus Rohlen have curated a varied all-day menu, as suitable for a quick lunch as a decadent three-course supper.
