While many whisky distilleries come with a fair dose of history, none is more famed than the Old Bushmills distillery; reigning as the world’s oldest licensed whisky distillery, Bushmills has had a grant to distil since 1608, with the first delivered to Sir Thomas Phillips by King James I. Made in the distillery’s 10 post stills and distilled three times, the 16 Year Old Single Malt has complex layers of dark fruit with a smooth palate of damson, plum and nuts.
