Behind-The-Shoot With Matthew Williamson

Harrods teams up with four key British designers to showcase a day in the life of these bustling ateliers for the exclusive film series, Inside The Studio. Kicking off the films, Matthew Williamson gives an access-all-areas glimpse into his vibrant atelier, following the journey of a piece from concept to catwalk. 

"Our brand has a super clear DNA it's rooted in that sense of bohemian, jet-set sensibility so that's always the cornerstone, the anchor of each collection. The challenge for me creatively is to move that forward and give it new layers." - Matthew Williamson.

Introducing his stunning muse - Artistic Director Georgie MacIntyre, Matthew shares: "We both have the same common goal - that synthesis and same dual energy. Georgie makes what I do slightly cooler than it would be without her!"

Speaking of her role with the fashion house, Georgie says: "It's exciting to be part of a brand that's 16-years old and such a big part of the British fashion scene. Seeing it change and the industry change with it. It's so important to nurture talent."

And on being a huge part of the digital fashion landscape? Georgie shares: "Matthew is so excited about digital - from the online sales through to his social media platforms - it's all just exploded. When fans engage with him, it's just so direct, he knows their instant reactions."
