A Touch Of The Tropics

Brazil fever has taken hold thanks to the FIFA World Cup, and what better way to embrace it than with a splash of tropical print? We’re not talking garish Hawaiian shirts, but blooming botanicals, lush colours and rich embroideries.
Tropical prints were seen in all their glory on the SS14 catwalks. Mary Katrantzou worked hyper-real florals onto streamlined separates and shifts while Marc Jacobs muted his hibiscus prints in maroon, black, bottle green and navy. In Milan, Just Cavalli presented a punk-inspired take on the trend, showing digitally-printed bra tops and cut-out dresses in psychedelic colours.
A hit with the street style set and the A-list, Rachel Bilson chose tropical co-ordinates from Milly for her red carpet appearance (see gallery above). If a head-to-toe look is too much for you, then opt for one considered piece to imbue your look with a little exotic flavour. Carven’s Jungle Print Shirt will reinvent workwear while René Caovilla’s Milah Fruit Embellished Sandal is a holiday wardrobe must.
