Reigning as one of the most notable estates in Bordeaux, producing one of Pomerol’s most important wines, Château Petrus’ blends are endlessly collectable. The label dates back to 1837 – although it came into favour in 1962 when bought by the Moueix family – and grows its Merlot grapes on a seven-hectare, clay-based vineyard, where every berry is hand-picked after the morning dew has evaporated. It's this care and attention that leaves vintages like this 2006 edition with a freshness that complements the notes of black fruit and formidable tannins beautifully.
