Under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, Givenchy continues its sculptural endeavour. This gown – inspired by draping outerwear on mannequins – showcases satin’s fluid form at the cowl neckline and wrapped skirt, yet dares to be different at the shoulder. Striking cut-outs at either side reveal a flash of skin at the upper arms, meaning the silhouette is shaped as much by negative space as by what remains.
