The second label of the legendary Château Lafite Rothschild, Carruades de Lafite Rothschild hails from the fine gravel soils and limestone subsoils of the Carruades plateau vineyard just to the west of the estate. Although it boasts many similarities with the Grand Vin, its higher proportion of Merlot lends it its own personality of a lively palate with leafy touches that give way to licoricey black fruit.
