Stella McCartney

A visionary who considers the planet in everything she does, Stella McCartney has been a leading voice in conscious design since establishing her brand in 2001. Following studies at Central Saint Martins and a tenure as creative director of Chloé, the British fashion designer decided to launch her own label, vowing since day one to never use furs, leathers or feathers in any of her pieces – a stance which was considered revolutionary at the time. Today the house continues to uphold an eco-conscious approach, opting for organic and recycled fabrics to make its dresses and tailoring, as well as developing groundbreaking materials such as Mylo – a leather alternative derived from the root system of mushrooms – to create signature accessories like the Falabella bag.
